The new Senator antibac pen a.k.a 'The Living Pen'™

Senator has a track record with the antibac pen going back to 1999 when the famous ‘Lancet’ article on the transfer of pathogens in hospitals gave rise to the production of their first antibac product in 2001. After several years on the market with ‘version 1’, they realised that the damage caused by the aggressive ‘superbug’ MRSA and C.Difficle strains needed to be addressed with a more powerful product which has lead to the development of version 2, the new ‘Living Pen™’.

Senator have developed something quite unique. 24 months in the making, Senator has linked up with a UK partner to produce an antibacterial additive. A relatively long period of liaison and testing between chemists and plastics experts has resulted in a product which can be legitimately certified as being effective against the C.Diff spore and MRSA (along with many other bacterial and viral strains).

Ink:

Just as importantly, Senator have uniquely incorporated the additive into their printing inks, ensuring the whole product is totally secure and the effectiveness remains uncompromised.

Certification:

This is an extremely important point. There are many so-called antibacterial products available but how many can say they have been independently tested and have achieved the very tough British Standard? The ‘Living Pen™’ not only passed the minimum criteria as set out in EN 20645, but did so in a very emphatic way.
